Florida Sun and Rain Are Hard on the Wrong Stone

Tallahassee averages about 100 days a year at 90 degrees or hotter and close to 59 inches of rain (NOAA climate normals, 1991 to 2020). An outdoor top lives through all of it.

Not every countertop material is made for that. Fernando will tell you honestly which stones he trusts outside before you choose.

For a grill station, heat matters too. The Natural Stone Institute says granite is typically heat resistant up to about 480 degrees Fahrenheit, though it discourages direct, localized heat.

Your Outdoor Kitchen, From Estimate to Install Day

7 to 10 days from your wooden template to install day.

About 1 day for the install itself.

How We Work, Step by Step
  1. Step 1

    Free Estimate and Consultation

Call or send a note. We listen to what you want and give you a free estimate.

  2. Step 2

    Choose Your Stone

We help you pick what you'll actually enjoy, not what we'd like to sell.

  3. Step 3

    Wooden Template

Fernando measures and builds a wooden template in your home, so walls that aren't straight still fit.

  4. Step 4

    Fabricate and Install

About 7 to 10 days later, Fernando installs it himself, usually in one day.

What Will It Cost?

Every outdoor kitchen is different, so the real number comes from a free estimate. We listen to what you want, then give you an honest price. Our price often comes in under what people expected to spend.

For a rough idea: a Florida pricing guide puts installed granite and quartz at about $65 to $90 a square foot (SlabWise, July 2026).

Questions We Hear

Do you hook up the sink and faucet?

We mount your sink in the stone, but we do not connect water lines, gas or electrical, and we cannot move outlets. Please have your plumber or electrician handle those. Some shutoff valves are old and have not been turned in years, so it is safer that way.

Do you come to my home to measure?

Yes. Fernando comes to your home for every measurement and builds the wooden template right on your cabinets, wherever you live in our area.

How long does an outdoor kitchen top take?

Once you have chosen your stone, it is about 7 to 10 days from the wooden template to install day, and the install itself usually takes about one day.

Can quartz go outside?

Usually not. MSI, a large stone supplier, says most standard quartz is not recommended outdoors, because sunlight can discolor the resin that holds it together. Our own stone sheet also notes quartz can get burn marks, which matters next to a grill. Fernando will tell you which stones he trusts outside.
