We are Fernando and Greylynne, and Tomahawk is our family business. Fernando has worked in stone since 2006, and he still does every job himself.

Our Story

Santa Rosa Beach, 2006

Fernando started working in stone in 2006. He spent 11 years at Florida Bath and Surfaces in Santa Rosa Beach. The company is a member of the Natural Stone Institute, which is where his training started. Over those years he became a supervisor and one of their trainers.

Moving to Tallahassee

About 10 years ago, when Fernando and Greylynne got engaged, he moved from Santa Rosa Beach to Tallahassee. Before he left, he stayed three more months to train the crews who would replace him, the same way he had been trained.

His old boss, Bob Schoen, later hired him for installs in Tallahassee. Bob has stayed in touch over the years, and he still tries to get Fernando to come back.

Joining the Business

Greylynne was an English teacher. She left teaching to help Fernando with the business, and they found out they loved working together. Today she is the person you talk to when you call, and Fernando does the stone work, from the first measurement to the final touches.

It's as if we're doing a kitchen for my mother or for my best friend.

Why Every Job Is Personal

We only work on homes now. We like the one-on-one connection: talking with you, listening, and being there at the very end. Our favorite part is the reveal, when you walk into the room and see what you imagined sitting right in front of you.

We have no team of strangers to send. The face you meet when you start with us is the face you see when we install.

We Listen First

We listen to people and to what they need. Then we work through choosing the right stone together, so what you ask for is what you get.
We Keep Our Schedule Small

We do not take on too many jobs at the same time. Getting your kitchen right is personal to us, and it takes our full attention.
We Are Not Salespeople

Greylynne was an English teacher before this. We will never push you toward something you do not need or want.
